About author

Ramon Del Villar

In life, Ramon Del Villar was a retired attorney and interpreter. He worked for the U.S. Federal Courts and had an opportunity to participate in a variety of cases including high profile international drug trafficking. His Roberto Duran novel series brings to readers an opportunity to see how our federal courts work and what a real life attorney's life is like. Unlike many shows, Ramon keeps his novels true to life as far as court proceedings. Originally from Mexico, he lived in Houston, Texas with his family.

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to beloved Inklings Publishing author, Ramon Del Villar after his valiant three year battle with cancer. In December 2021, Villar published his debut novel and legal crime-thriller, Payback. One year later, in 2013, he published Interpreters’ Anatomy of a Civil Lawsuit, his bilingual textbook on interpreting the process involved in civil court cases. In February 2019, Villar completed his Roberto Duran series with the series’ sequel, Assassin.

Per his family, Ramon Del Villar was an avid reader, local attorney, pioneer Federal Court interpreter, licensed pilot and published author.

"Ramon enjoyed drinking a good brandy, smoking a fine cigar, and doting on his granddads—Arya, Coco, Misty, and Merlin.”

Ramon Del Villar was a genuine talent and wise soul who will be terribly missed.
